In 1976, the Montreal Olympic Games was the occasion when she became a legend by becoming the first person to achieve a perfect 10, in asymmetric bars. Additionally, she also scored six perfect 10s which made her 14 years of age, the youngest Olympic medalist across all categories. Comaneci didn't just attract attention from all over the world, she also brought Romania onto the map. A sports legend came into the spotlight after securing an unprecedented result, creating a legend and popularizing gymnastics as a sport all over the globe. Public opinion about female sportspeople was changed by the feat. The impact she had on the Olympics was so significant that two of her moves including the toe-on and the release movement have been designated in honor of her. Both of them have been classified as being high-level difficult. In addition to the Olympics she also was the hottest athlete in the World Championships and European Championships. Her performance earned her the title of one of the greatest gymnasts of all time. In addition, she modeled and promoted sports gear after moving from the US.
